Oak Tree Veterinary Hospital offers virtual veterinary consultations for established patients when a remote conversation is appropriate. These scheduled video visits provide a convenient way to speak with a member of our veterinary team about follow-up concerns, ongoing care, or general questions regarding your pet.
Virtual consultations are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please call 216-321-6040 to determine whether a virtual visit is appropriate and to schedule a consultation.
A consultation fee applies, and payment is required at the beginning of the appointment.
When a Virtual Consultation May Be Helpful
A virtual consultation may be appropriate for:
- Follow-up questions after a recent appointment
- Discussing your pet’s progress after treatment
- Reviewing an existing care plan
- General nutrition or weight-management questions
- Behavioral concerns
- Questions about previously discussed test results
- Determining whether an in-person appointment should be scheduled
Virtual consultations are intended to support your pet’s ongoing veterinary care. They do not replace a complete physical examination or regular in-clinic visits.
What to Expect During Your Video Visit
During the consultation, our veterinary team will listen to your concerns, review the information available in your pet’s medical record, and discuss appropriate next steps.
Depending on your pet’s symptoms and medical history, we may recommend an in-person examination, diagnostic testing, urgent veterinary care, or evaluation at an emergency hospital.
A diagnosis or treatment decision cannot always be made through a video consultation. An in-person examination may be required before specific medical recommendations can be provided.
Virtual Visits Are Not for Emergencies
Virtual consultations should not be used for urgent or life-threatening situations.
Seek immediate emergency veterinary care if your pet is experiencing:
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe bleeding
- Collapse or loss of consciousness
- Seizures
- Suspected poisoning
- Serious trauma
- Inability to urinate
- Repeated vomiting with weakness
- Severe pain or distress
