Healthy Gluten Free Dog Treat Recipe Using Holiday Leftovers

  • 2 cups of shredded leftover turkey ( lean white meat )
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese ( I use the light from Trader Joe’s)
  • ½ tsp. cumin
  • 1 cup of potatoes cooked and mashed ( any kind but raw or green) Can also substitute 1 Cup of over cooked brown rice.
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Spread evenly on rimmed baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 375(f) degrees for 25 minutes.
  4. Cut into bars or squares while still hot.
  5. Allow to cool before serving them to your dog.

Remember, giving your dog too many treats can make them fat, too. Treats should be given occasionally and not all the time or in place of meals.  Your dog will live a longer, healthier, happier, more comfortable life if he’s not overweight.
